Any one else seen a the lasted RCR Falcon update.
The car is puking up coolant, and blew off the bottom rad hose, more than one commentor mentioned the waterpump impeller could be spinning the wrong direction for they’re belt set up. Seems the most likely culprit to me.

He sounds like someone murdered his dogs, his cats, and the nice lady down the street and her dogs and cats.
This is pretty typical on restomods/restorations. The first drive usually reveals a small oversight in the form of DOOM. Also why trying to do something like this by some very strict deadline is a rough way to go.
When I fixed up my Tercel, on the first test drive, the brakes didn’t really work, coolant started puking out the thermostat while idling, oh, and it didn’t really idle...

I really want them to succeed. The first drive will reveal, but they will fix. I have faith in them.

Water pump flow direction is a good guess.
But it’s also very easy to leave air in the cooling system of these 302s. They don’t have a proper bleed screw.
But I don’t think Bruce is the type to overlook that, and I don’t think improper burping would blow the hoses off... I like the water pump theory.

Yeah it seemed the most logical, and most likely theory, they mentioned more then once before that they played mix and match to get the belt and accessories to work so it's likely they wrong water pump found its way in there.

Installing a 160° t-stat is a wild goose chase. It’s a band-aid “fix” that may or may not cover up the overheating, but it won’t let the engine run at operating temperature.

Yeah there’s always something, you forgot, or over looked, or some problem that just decided to show it’s self.
Like when I changed my timing belt last summer, the car was running a bit hot, not quite over heating, just running hotter than it aught too, like 180-200. The problem was I had forgotten to top off the coolant after it had worked the air out. Just a little step I hadn't thought of due to inexperience.

Oh, what was it? I’m trying to remember... Something like the 302 was sourced from a (early 90's?) Thunderbird, but the timing cover was from an older engine? Something with a mechanical fuel pump?

Yeah something like that.

The engine was out of a 90s Explorer which they changed the heads on along with converting it from fuel injection to carburetors.
